United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore (UWLES) is thrilled to have our newest event, Over the Edge for
ALICE®, a one-of-a-kind urban rappelling adventure, in Downtown Salisbury on Friday, May 2, 2025! This adrenaline pumping fundraiser gives partcipants the opportunity to rappel down The Ross while raising awareness and critical funds to support Lower Shore neighbors who are working hard but struggle each month to meet basic needs.
On Friday, May 2, 2025, Over the Edge for ALICE invites the community to come support our brave Edgers. Participants raised a minimum of $1,080 to secure their spot as an “edger” to safely rappel down all 14 stories of The Ross. This high energy event is presented by UWLES in partnership with Over the Edge USA, The Ross, City of Salisbury, Perdue Farms, PAC14 and WMDT 47abc.
The event starts at noon with non-profit partners and vendors, food, and family- friendly activities. Our first wave of rappelers will start between 12:30-1:00 p.m., kicked off by President & CEO Pam Gregory, and will go until 5:00 p.m. or when final Edgers complete their rappel. A community block party will follow a afterwards from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with the continuation of food, vendors, activities, fun awards for our top Edgers and live music from My Dirty Little Secret.
“Over the Edge for ALICE is not just about rappelling and doing something fun to celebrate our 80th year of local impact. Thousands of our neighbors are working hard but can’t afford the basics, making tough choices each month. This event is about taking bold action to help United Way and our partners raise awareness and dollars to expand resources and opportunities for those living on the edge so all neighbors can find stability and thrive.” said Pam Gregory, UWLES President/CEO. “Whether you rappel, donate, or volunteer, everyone plays a role in making a local impact through this unforgettable experience.”
