(Washington, D.C., August 6, 2025) – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins today announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture is making $6 million in grant funding available for seafood processors to expand operations, transform the food supply chain and create new and better markets for the processing of invasive, wild-caught catfish. United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore (UWLES) held their inaugural Over the Edge for ALICE® event on May 2nd at The Ross in Downtown Salisbury. The second Sunday of August to the following Saturday is designated as Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week each year. That means qualifying apparel and footwear $100 or less, per item, are exempt from the state sales tax. The first $40 of a backpack or bookbag purchase is also tax-free. TidalHealth today announces the creation of a new Intermediate Care Unit at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional through the merger of its Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and 3 Layfield critical care unit.  The consolidation aims to better coordinate critical care services and address long-standing space and geographic challenges within the Salisbury hospital.
