Mid Shore Nursing Assistant Advisory Council (MSNAAC) honors Mary Camper as 2025 Certified Nursing Assistant of the Year

Mary Camper, a certified nursing assistant at Mallard Bay Nursing and Rehab in Cambridge, MD, was awarded the honor of being chosen as the Mid Shore Nursing Assistant Advisory Council’s 2025 CNA of the Year. The awards ceremony took place at the Health and Education Center of the University of Maryland Shore Regional Health in Easton on September 30, 2025. 

Camper has been a CNA for 46 years. She was nominated by Mallard Bay, and described as “the embodiment of what healthcare should be,” whose work ethic, leadership, and professionalism “set the standard for those around her.”

Camper was chosen from among 17 nominees across the region: Akai Cephas, Emma Dwyer, Katt Gray, Alexia Kelley, Megan McKeever, Jocelyn Rafael, Lisa Swain, Teaira Thompson, UM Shore Medical Center at Easton; Brandy Fanton, Dixon House Assisted Living; Crystal Godley, Lori Perry, UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown; Da’chell Hains, Candlelight Cove Assisted Living; Debora Copper, Complete Care at Corsica Hills Nursing Home; Jessica Krieger, Home Instead; Mary Camper, Mallard Bay Nursing and Rehab; Monica Roberts, Compass Hospice; and Sa’niya Ennals, Heartfields Assisted Living at Easton.
The selection criteria for determining the winner included work ethic, leadership skills, professionalism, compassion for others, teamwork, dedication to healthcare, good attendance, friendliness with family and visitors, work flexibility, safety skills, and professional image.

MSNAAC supports healthcare in the community by promoting the nursing assistant profession. The council helps nursing assistants improve their skills by providing resources and networking and hosts the annual “CNA of the Year” to recognize outstanding certified nursing assistants.
