Martin named TidalHealth’s August 2025 Marc McDonald Awardee

Stephen Martin is TidalHealth’s August 2025 recipient of the Marc McDonald Award.

CRISFIELD – TidalHealth is pleased to announce that Stephen "Steve" Martin, physical therapist at TidalHealth McCready Pavilion in Crisfield, Maryland, is the August 2025 recipient of the Marc McDonald Award.

Martin was recognized for his professionalism, compassion and commitment to the healing and well-being of TidalHealth’s patients:

"Steve sets a positive tone every day, leading by example with empathy, compassion and clinical excellence. His unwavering positivity inspires the entire team, helping to bring out the best in both his patients and peers. During staffing shortages, he goes above and beyond by taking on extra shifts to ensure the team remains strong and supported.

Steve has made a positive impact on many patients. One, in particular, recently reached a remarkable milestone thanks to Steve’s hard work and determination. For the first time in over four years, this patient walked with a walker after suffering a severe infection that caused septic arthritis in multiple joints. This achievement, once thought impossible, reflects Steve’s exceptional skill and persistence.

Beyond his excellence as a physical therapist, Steve is also a devoted father, husband, son and community member. He cares for his family daily and gives back tirelessly through volunteer work, demonstrating the same compassion in his personal life that he brings to his profession."

The Marc McDonald Award is given to TidalHealth team members in the fields of physical, occupational and speech therapy in recognition and memory of Marc McDonald, an outstanding lead physical therapist at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford, Delaware. He passed unexpectedly in 2022, but not before leaving a legacy of exceptional patient care.
