Horn Point scientists will engage the audience with interactive talks about their environmental science research, and its impact on the Eastern Shore and around the world. CAMBRIDGE, MD (November 11, 2024)–The University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science’s Horn Point Laboratory is partnering with the nonprofit organization PCs for People to reuse and recycle electronic equipment. The Facilities and IT departments at Horn Point Laboratory are leading the collaborative effort to put the campus’s ready-to-recycle electronics to good use. PCs for People collects and refurbishes electronics from businesses, schools, and other organizations across the country.
Nearly 500 visitors explored the scientific research, and enjoyed the natural beauty, of Horn Point Laboratory at this year's Open House. Faculty and students shared their environmental science research through interactive activities. Other highlights included a wagon ride, nature walks, a tour of the historic DuPont House, and Chesapeake Bay-themed crafts for children.
