The Peregrine Comes Home to the Richardson Maritime Museum
The Richardson Maritime Museum is thrilled to welcome The Peregrine back home! Originally built in the early 1970s by Jim Brighton at Jim Richardson’s Boatyard, this beautiful day sailor skipjack was commissioned by a lawyer from Atlantic City as a pleasure craft for sailing the Atlantic. After spending decades away—including time on the Western Shore of Southern Maryland—The Peregrine has returned to its roots.
Generously donated by Craig Haynie of Deale, Maryland, The Peregrine is now part of the museum's collection, where it truly belongs. C and C Ventures have generously donated their time to transport the Peregrine to Richardson Maritime Museum. Jim Brighton, her builder, is not only a master craftsman but also a founding member of the Richardson Maritime Museum. This homecoming is a meaningful full circle for both the vessel and the community that honors its legacy.
We invite you to join us at 103 Hayward Street, Cambridge, as The Peregrine arrives at its final home and begins its next chapter: a thoughtful restoration, supported in part by the Mid-Shore Community Foundation's George B. Todd Fund.
Come celebrate this historic return and help us bring The Peregrine back to life!
