Presents Speaker: Captain Fred Pomeroy
"Trotlining at James Island"
Captain Fred Pomeroy is a lifelong Chesapeake Bay waterman, environmental activist, and former English teacher at Cambridge South Dorchester High School. Currently he is working on his 60th season catching crabs in the Little Choptank river and staying busy telling stories about the water on local NPR radio station WHCP in Cambridge. Fred also tills his family farm in the Neck District and lives there with his wife Leine Lowe. Captain Fred will be speaking to members and guests of the South Dorchester Folk Museum about his recollection of his early experience trotlining crabs at James Island
