Sunrise at Blackwater is a great time for two reasons: it’s when the wildlife is most active, and the quality of light is amazing and constantly changing. Eagles, great blue herons, and the recently-returned-from-winter migration osprey are potential subjects for our cameras, along with ducks, geese, and if we’re lucky, an owl or two.
And, of course, the landscapes. Blackwater is simply beautiful, and if we do nothing but work on our compositions to photograph landscapes both broad and more intimate, we’ll have had a great morning. This morning the almost-full moon will be setting, and we’ll have the sun, the moon, and wildlife to keep us busy.
Sunrise is at 5:42 am, and moonset is at 5:43 am. We’ll meet at 5:00 am and get right to work before the moon sinks below the horizon. This will be the last Sunday morning workshop until the end of the year. Min 5 – Max 10 students
