New Year's Day Cleanup and Community Discussion
A twist on the traditional First Day Hike - a hike with a purpose! Join us at 9:30 on New Years Day in the parking lot behind Chesapeake College Cambridge Center for a litter and trash cleanup followed by a community discussion on how we can move beyond litter in Cambridge.
We've identified areas of littering concern in Cambridge where we will focus, but if you have another area you want to address, we're happy to help with that, too!
Then, at 11, we'll meet back behind the college, and have an open-ended discussion about how we can make these cleanups less necessary through city policies and through education.
We'll dispose of the waste you've bagged, either that is brought back to us, or left at specific locations, so you won't have to get your car dirty or smelly.
Please let me or the
know if you can attend. If you decide you can make it at the last minute, come on out and we'll be happy to provide some gloves, trash bags, and supplies for you even if you didn't RSVP.
