A new 12-foot bronze sculpture of Harriet Tubman, created by Wesley Wofford Sculpture Studio, will be permanently installed and dedicated at the Dorchester County Courthouse in Cambridge, Maryland - Stop #3 along the byway, and a former site of slave auctions and a daring escape to freedom engineered by Tubman in the 1800s. The dedication of the 3,000 pound bronze sculpture, "The Beacon of Hope," will happen during the annual Day of Resilience event on Saturday, September 10, 2022. Money is still being raised for the statue through Harriet's Journey Home campaign at alphagenesiscdc.org/harriets-journey-home.
