JA Inspire Opening Reception
Hosted by Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore
Come out the night before our JA Inspire event to experience first-hand what 3,000 8th graders from across the Eastern Shore of Maryland will be experiencing the next day.
Our JA Inspire event seeks to show students here on The Shore all the opportunity that exists. Our students are told so often that they have to leave or move to make good money and that's not the truth. We'll have over 100 businesses present with hands-on activities to show students what a day in the life of their career looks like. We'll be talking everything from salaries to the skills and education needed to obtain all the jobs shown. We'll also have all the local universities, community colleges, and apprenticeship programs on hand to show students the pathways to obtain the jobs they want.
8th grade is an important time as this is right before these students are picking their high school course work. It's important to show them and inspire them now, so they can make the right choices to set themselves up for success in high school.
