In recognition of April being Jazz Appreciation Month
Join the IBPOEW - Dorchester Elks Lodge #223 as we present
"Historical Perspectives of Art, Culture and Entertainment: A Jazz Series"
There will be a special showing of the 1995 Academy Award Nominee for Best Documentary and previous Chicago International Film Festival's Top Awardee - "A GREAT DAY IN HARLEM"
"The Story and Sounds behind the Most Famous Photo in the  History of Jazz!"  A Film by Jean Bach (1994)
The documentary  is only one-hour in length, so don't miss out. The public is invited to this FREE event.
Enjoy Jazz music during the month of April and throughout the year.
It is truly is America's "classical" music and its relevance to American History is of the utmost importance!
More events in the Historic Pine Street area of Downtown Cambridge are being planned for the near future.

On the stoop or standing in front of it were Count Basie, Lester Young, Gene Krupa, Diggy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, Art Blakey, Charles Mingus, Horace Silver, Sonny Rollins, Marian McPartland, Coleman Hawkins, Gerry Mulligan, Mary Lou Williams and 44 other musicians (along with children from the neighborhood.)
