Difficult Conversations at the End of Life

Join Dr. Ghulam Waris, F.A.A.G.M., Chief Medical Director, Coastal Hospice as he shares tools on how to approach the hard conversations that healthcare providers must have with patients facing life-limiting conditions. He will share his own strategies for meeting patients where they are, choosing helpful words, and having meaningful and productive conversations with patients and their families.
Objectives:

  1. Understand importance of having conversations about Hospice
  2. When is appropriate to have these conversations
  3. Choose helpful words and avoid using terms that are harmful
  4. Utilize strategies to introduce Hospice
In-Person Presentation with Continuing Education Credits: 1.0 contact hour for physicians, nurses and social workers.
