Bioreactors remove nitrates from farm runoff sending cleaner water downstream. Stop by Layton’s Chance Winery to take a tour of a bioreactor being constructed along a drainage ditch.

A bioreactor is basically a tractor-trailer-sized pit filled with wood chips. These wood chips hold healthy bacteria that reduce nitrate levels for up to ten years!
